Nadezda Tavodova Tezgor


Nadezda Tavodova Tezgor is a Slovak-born American photojournalist based in New York City.   Her work focuses on human-interest stories, conflict, documentary photography, cooperation with NGOs and breaking news. She holds an active NYPD Press Pass.

Graduated from the Conservatory School of Performing Arts, majoring in Photography, Czech Republic, the Spanish American Institute, NYC, and the International Center of Photography, NYC, majoring in Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism.

She has worked with several NGOs, media outlets and clients, covered Russian-Ukrainian war, Israel after the Hamas attack, victims of domestic violence in Afghanistan (Women For Afghan Women), drug addicts in Afghanistan (Mother Camp), medical mission in Philippines (Alliance for Smiles), socially unstable families in Nepal (Rokpa), body cremation in Varanasi, His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama’s teaching in Dharamshala, in Europe and US, Covid-19 and Black Lives Matter human rights protests in NYC. She documented Cuba, Turkey, Japan, Egypt, Italy, Czech and Slovak Republic and other countries.

Nadezda collaborated with multiple artists and as a lead photographer on the book Business Etiquette and Communication with L. Špaček, a former advisor to the president of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel.
